Emnebeskrivelse

Specialisation in knowledge based on theory and experience.

The course includes an individual work placement period of 16 weeks during the autumn semester with participation in professional activity. Furthermore, the course will provide the students with a specialisation in perspectives and problem issues that are relevant for the profession.

The course is offered parallel with course 6.

Læringsmål

The students should develop and become aware of their own position, and increase their understanding of the connection between research, theory and practical work. The students should furthermore develop their action competence as child welfare officers into a qualified beginner level.

Undervisnings- og læringsmetode

Lectures, seminars, student-managed group work, supervision conversations and work placement, assignments, supervision in connection with assignments.

The students must have passed course 3 and 4 in order to sit for the examination in course 5.

Arbeidskrav

Completion of different assignments in own practice portfolio. Written, individual specialisation assignment on a self-elected topic of professional relevance. Presence in seminars dealing with skills.

Eksamensform

The work placement period is evaluated in accordance with current regulations. Evaluated as passed/failed.

The individual final examination consists of:

  • final evaluation of individual written specialisation assignment which is orally defended
  • oral examination on central theoretic knowledge areas related to the course literature. The students' ability to evaluate professional problem issues and use knowledge from the programme's different knowledge areas is tested. Cf. National curriculum for study programmes in child welfare
