The course will focus on the

following themes:

• Basic characteristics of the experience economy – the macro perspective

• Cultural and experience related industries – an overview

• Mechanisms of turning ordinary products into extraordinary experiences

• Psychological and cultural aspects of experiences – the micro perspective

• Storytelling and design of experiences

Læringsmål

Building on the basis provided by the two previous courses, the purpose of this course is to

develop further knowledge of central aspects of the experience economy and train the students

in analysing central issues related to this economy and how commercial activities in various ways may adopt to the mechanisms of the experience economy.

Undervisnings- og læringsmetode

The course will be divided in two parts. In the first part, there will be given introductory lectures on the main themes, and this will be followed up by group works and plenary discussion. In the second part, the main focus will be on case works – students will be

organised in groups and will perform a thorough case analysis in which they have to apply various parts of the theory. While working on the case, they have to give a presentation in work.

An oral presentation of their case.

Eksamensform

The exam will be based on the written report of the case analysis in combination with an oral

presentation and examination.
