Emnebeskrivelse

There is increased attention on building brands, within traditional product marketing, as well as in services marketing. The course will cover theories and concepts pertaining to branding, and give the students an opportunity to apply this knowledge in an analysis of brand management.


Læringsutbytte

The students should gain knowledge about branding and brand management. The students will gain insight into different ways of developing business and product brands, and analyse how an integrated market communication may be used in the development and marketing of brandet products and services.


Undervisnings- og læringsmetode

Lectures, group seminars, written group work.

 

Extensive use of supervision. Oral presentation of the written projects.

Arbeidskrav

The students will be required to present part I of the semester project as an “arbeidskrav” (mandatory, ungraded work).

 

The students will also be required to make a oral presentation of the semester project which will be seen as an “arbeidskrav”.

 

Other written or oral tasks may be required as “arbeidskrav”.


Eksamensform

The assessment will consist of two parts:

 

The students will complete a written project in groups. This project will be graded A-F and count 70 % of final grade.

 

The students will also complete an individual written exam, maximum 3 hours in length. The exam may be multiple choice or essay, or a combination. The exam will count 30% of the final grade.


The student must have a passing grade in both assessments in order to receive a grade for the course.
