Master of Public Administration (experience-based master’s degree)

The master’s degree will provide knowledge of the role played by organisations and the design of organisations in public administration.

Through the study programme students will acquire knowledge of how modern public administration seeks new forms of cooperation and partnership across administrative branches and with outside actors.

The programme will give insight into central issues such as: What is good public administration? What is the significance of the new framework conditions that have been created through Europeanisation and the establishment of a fourth level of administration? How can new technology be used actively? What role does leadership and strategy play in administration internally so that actors can assume entrepreneurial roles? The development of public administration is set in a multi-tiered context, with local, regional and international perspectives. Thereby emphasis is placed on the role of the public sector both as an administrative and a regulatory player.

ECTS obtained
The master programme has a total workload of 90 ECTS credits.

The programme qualifies students for work on organisational design, organisational processes, planning, and research and development in both the public and private sectors.
