Bachelor of International Studies and History

Today’s world picture is characterised not only by increasing cooperation between countries, economic liberalisation and cultural globalisation, but also by fragmentation and conflict.

By studying international relations and their historical background students learn what forces and ideas have helped to shape international relations and continue to shape them.

The programme is interdisciplinary and the topics are elucidated by employing perspectives and methodologies from different traditional disciplines, chiefly political science and history.

Study abroad period

Students can spend one semester abroad in their second year of study.

Qualifications

This programme does not qualify the student for a particular profession but knowledge of international relations and social conditions generally is in demand in the labour market. A typical area of work might lie in the point of intersection between politics and organisational life. With a one-year programme in educational theory and practice in addition, students will be qualified to work in the school system.
