Bachelor of Social Work

The aim of the programme is for the candidates to become reflective on both their own role and the users’ role. The student should acquire knowledge, attitudes and skills based on leading research, development work and empirical knowledge. They should be academically involved, acquire the ability to critically reflect on the field, ethics, own professional role and the social processes and structures making up the framework of the users’ lives.

Study abroad
Possible in the work placement period in the 2nd academic year.

 

Further education
Social workers may add to their education by taking different Master’s degree programmes at Lillehammer University College and other universities and university colleges in Norway and abroad.

Qualifications
The usual occupation would be social worker. Social workers’ main workplace is the local social and child welfare service. Other workplaces could be institutions with different target areas such as drug abuse, psychiatry, somatic hospitals, personnel management and voluntary organisations.
