How to get there?

National airport

Norway’s national airport, Gardemoen, Oslo airport, is situated between Lillehammer and Oslo. Gardemoen has good connections to all main cities in Europe.  

 

Direct train connection Gardemoen - Lillehammer

The Norwegian State Railways (NSB) has a direct train connection between Gardemoen, Oslo airport, and Lillehammer, with departures every hour. The railway tracks run alongside lake Mjøsa for a fair amount of the journey, that takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. You can book the train ticket in advance or buy it on the train. Buying tickets in advance will save you some money.

Arrival by train

If you come to Norway by train, you will arrive at the central station in Oslo. From there you can continue by train to Lillehammer. The trip takes approximately 2 hours and twenty minutes.

Train station pickup

All international exchange students have a buddy who will contact them before arrival. The buddies offer all international exchange students a train station pickup in Lillehammer to show the students to their accommodation.
