VANIER Canada Graduate Scholarship
Vanier-stipendet har som formål å støtte verdensledende doktorgradsstudenter gjennom studier og forskning. Både kanadiere og internasjonale studenter kan søke på stipendet som gir ca 50 000 kanadiske dollar eller ca 270 000 kroner i året i opptil tre år. For å bli vurdert til et Vanier-stipend, må man bli anbefalt av en professor der man studerer eller søker på sin doktorgrad. Deretter følger en møysom vurdering av kandidatene før endelig utvelgelse. Stipendet er administrert av Canadas tre føderale forskningsinstitusjoner med ansvar for tildeling av føderale midler. The Government of Canada has launched the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program. As Canada’s most prestigious doctoral scholarship, it is designed to attract and retain world-class emerging scholars by offering them a significant financial award to assist them during their studies at Canadian universities. Both international and Canadian students are eligible to be nominated for a Vanier Scholarship, which is valued at C$50,000 per year for three years.
More than 110,000 international students per year choose to study in Canada to earn academic degrees that are recognized and respected around the world. Studying in Canada, they enjoy a diverse, welcoming and vibrant society that offers a unique cultural experience in an enriching environment.
The Vanier CGS program further affirms Canada as a global centre of excellence in research and education. Vanier scholars pursue doctoral studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health-related fields. They are outstanding doctoral students from Canada and around the world, and are recognized as leaders in their fields of research and in their communities.
