Anne - Lise With (1960), Senior Lecturer
I teach a course in the BA-program Film and Television Studies: Film History. I also lecture in theory and film analyses in other courses, mainly in modern cinema and Scandinavian film.
Recently I have been head of the Study Program in Film-and television studies for four years, so many of my tasks have been administrative ones. But I’m in general concerned with pedagogical development and methods connected to the quality of teaching and learning.
Concerning research: I have written some articles about representation and meaning of recollection and memory in film. This is film mainly belonging to what we categorize as “cinematic modernism”, but also genres as science fiction have been in my focus. I have analyzed films like Mirror and Solaris (Tarkovsky), Wild Strawberries (Bergman), Distant Voices, Still Lives (Davies), Blade Runner (Scott) and Strange days (Bigelow). This topic was some years ago my PHD project.
My educational background is a BA from the University in Bergen and Trondheim, and MA in Film and Television Studies from the University of Trondheim (today NTNU). My MA thesis was a theoretical-empirical study of the conditions and notions of ‘art cinema’ in the Municipal Cinema System in Norway.
