Research Interests: Legal Theory, Legal History, Comparative Law

Research profile: My research is focused on the evolution of western legal cultures, the (continental) civil law and its differences to the (English and American) common law tradition. Being a practicing lawyer, I am interested in procedural law and environment and heritage protection law.

Empirical Linguistics and the law: The evolution of the state as concept (funded by the Swiss National Foundation, 2012-2015)
Digitalization of the national land register (funded by the Swiss National Foundation, 2012-2015)
Exit from nuclear and fossil-fuel energy (funded by the Swiss Government, 2014-2016)
